The SNES version of Ys III has downgraded background animations in comparison to the other versions.
Here in these examples you can see that the highly detailed animations of the TG-CD and Mega Drive versions have been replaced with very crude artwork, and rushed "flashing" backgrounds, they are also animated with fewer frames in this version. These pictures also show the Mega Drive's extra heat effect not found in the other versions (The TG-CD just has the bubbling animation for the background)
